Project Manager - Structural Steel Fabrication

Ben Hur offers a competitive salary and benefits. Starting pay for the PM Structural Steel Fabrication position is based on education, experience and skill level - $85,000 to $120,000. The Project Manager for our Detailing Department handles all assigned detailing and connection design projects alongside the Technical Manager. This role is a direct contact to the customer and all other trades on the project.

Position Responsibilities:

• The PM supports the customer, shop, and field as it relates to the awarded scope of work; following and maintaining Ben Hur management processes through the duration of all projects.
• Tracks critical path project milestones and adjust priorities to maintain customer satisfaction and project schedule.
• Actively communicates with other trades that impact the detailing and connection design scope to keep project on schedule.
• Maintain the flow of information/submittals between the customer and detailing/engineering teams in a clear and organized fashion.
• Manage the drawing packages for the customer and for the shop throughout the life of all assigned projects.
• Manage multiple projects of various sizes and complexity from start to finish.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Must communicate in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner both in person and electronically.
• Strong ability to manage complex projects with varying schedule requirements.
• Strong understanding of how to read construction documents including specs, structural and architectural drawings.
• Strong understanding of the construction process for steel fabrication/erection.
• Basic knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word). Steel detailing/modeling experience is a plus. (SDS2 or Tekla)
• Knowledge of AISC and AWS codes.
• Experienced candidates must have experience working for a Structural Steel Fabricator, Structural Steel Detailer, or General Contractor. For entry level candidates an equivalent 4 year college degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
