Ben Hur Construction Company offers a competitive salary and benefits. Starting pay is based on education, experience and skill level - salary $110,000 to $130,000. Core benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA, life insurance, company paid short-term and long-term disability, and 401K with match.

The Project Superintendent maintains total accountability for the overall on-site administrative and technical management on a construction project site, which is not staffed with a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager or Construction Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise total construction effort to insure project is constructed safely and in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing Corporate Safety Department, client representatives, A/E representatives, and subcontractors.
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise on-site functions (scheduling engineering, material control) and provides day-to-day direction of on-site administrative departmental staff.
  • Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
  • May authorize and/or approve all project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, and field design change requests.
  • Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment.
  • Develop and implement project procedures, working documents, and standards.
  • Insure all on-site personnel comply with safety procedures, safety program requirements, and work rules. Document all violations, notify project management, and recommend/implement corrective actions.
  • Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of a combination of construction management, department head, and/or craft supervision experience in similar construction.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules and safety required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and craft supervisory skills are essential.
